Honey Bee Project
Honey bees are important because they pollinate a majority of our crops and flower. Crops such as: Wheat, Fruits, Nuts, and everything in between. Bees also help pollinate flowers which make the world pretty and colorful. Think of it this way, if bees went extinct, we would have very little fruits and wheat and nuts and lots of other plants. On top of this, millions of dollars would be lost from our economy. I believe that we should be concerned about honey bees because without them we will have problems with our crops, flowers, and economy.
For my project, I decided to do a comedy skit with my friend Grant Gibson. We chose to do a comedy skit because we are generally very funny people and we decided to channel that energy and turn it into the final project for humanities. Coleen gave us a very open-ended selection for our final project, therefor a comedy skit was right up our ally. Our video is below.

Disection
We did dissections in Biology this year in which I dissected a virtual Shark. I initially started dissecting a real shark, but due to my inability to stand things in the body, I ended up doing Virtual dissection. During these dissections, we explored the different systems and functions of the body. I leaned a lot about the various different functions of the body and how they all intertwine to make us move and function.
Crime Scene Project Reflection
My two best Evidence Reports:
In this project, we learned about DNA and how it plays a role in our modern justice system. We learned about how DNA can successfully release or exonerate a convicted person from prison. At the beginning of this project, a man by the name of Ken Marsh came to our classroom to talk about how he was exonerated from prison through DNA evidence and false conviction. After that, we were split into groups of two and assigned one of three crime scenes. Our team's tasks were to thoroughly examine our crime scene and apply many forensic techniques such as Forensic Entomology, or Forensic Toxicology.
During this project I got to learn a lot of things that allow me to finally understand the step by step process that crime scene investigators do everyday. First of I learned about casting, specifically shoe print casts. The learning of shoe prints was an extra piece of associative evidence that when we found a suspect, could be used to help link them to the crime. From there I learned about Forensic Entomology which is the the process to identify the time of death in the most part but in the style of the study on insects. Forensic Entomology is very key because you can tell the time off death by the study of the stage of life for the insects. Blood typing was a big topic that we learned about because it taught us about how we can identify the blood type of someone very quickly. Lastly I learned about Coroners reports which is a long process that inspects every part of the victims body from brushing to the contents of the stomach. The process also identifies the cause of death which is very useful in when reconstructing what happened at the crime. Over all I learned a lot about the process that convicts a person of a crime.
The most interesting forensic science to me was blood typing because I learned how to tell blood type. during this project, I thought that I did a good job staying on top of all of my assignments and I did a good job collaborating with my partner and peers. If i could go back in time to the start of this project, I would probably tell myself to take better notes on certain things such as blood typing. there was a quiz on blood typing towards the end of this project, and I was not the most prepared for it because i had inadequate notes.
